M25 traffic: Serious M25 crash near Heathrow Airport shuts motorway – live updates

Drivers are facing long delays after a crash has shut the M25 anticlockwise near Heathrow Airport this afternoon (Monday, May 1). Traffic monitoring service INRIX says traffic queues are stretching back six miles.

The accident, which reportedly involved a car transporter and a motorbike, happened between J15 M4 and J14 A3113 Airport Way. Traffic is building on both carriageways, as it is currently being held on the clockwise carriageway for the air ambulance. A diversion route has been issued by National Highways.

A National Highways spokesperson said: “The M25 in Greater London/Berkshire is closed anti-clockwise between J15 (M4) and J14 (Stanwell Moor) near London Heathrow Airport is closed due to a serious collision involving a motorbike.

“Metropolitan Police, Fire, Ambulance Service and National Highways Traffic Officers are on scene. Traffic is currently held on the clockwise carriageway for Air Ambulance.”
